IMPORTANT UPDATE: GAMING AND ATM'S - NEW LEGISLATION IN VICTORIA
It has recently been confirmed that Automatic Teller Machines will be banned from gaming venues in Victoria from June 2012 as part of new legislation to encourage responsible gambling across the state.
"Forthcoming amendments
Under amendments to the Act made by the Gambling Regulation Amendment (Licensing) Act 2009, automatic teller machines (ATMs) will not be permitted in approved gaming venues from 1 July 2012, unless approved by the VCGR.
The VCGR will be able to approve ATMs in gaming venues if;
- the approved venue is outside the Melbourne Statistical Division;
- if the VCGR is satisfied that that the community would otherwise have no reasonable alternative to cash facilities; and
- suffer hardship without the facility."
